Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Decade

My thoughts on the new movie

I only saw the first half of “Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny” on its friday night opening before leaving because some twit got way too drunk at the bar in the lobby before the show and then launched into a loud, rambling, drunken monologue during the flick.



Eventually this yahoo got tossed out, but not before I walked out in disgust. And Studio Chieftains wonder why folks prefer to stay home and Stream Movies in the Comfort and Sanctity of their own home! Americans don’t respect the Cinema. They never really have, but now they think it’s some kind of sporting event or something.



Anyway, before I left the theater in a huff, what I saw of "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" onscreen was a fun and spirited movie with strong and capable direction from Mr. James Mangold and a sharp and witty script that knew what it wanted to be tonally and thematically with a great performance from Harrison Ford playing an aging hero who is long, long past his prime and facing irrelevance in a decade that could care less about him.



Harrison Ford’s 1980s physical acting heroics and "Stuntman!? I don’t need no stinkin’ stuntman!" heyday is LONG behind him, but his charisma hasn’t dimmed a bit and his gravitas as an actor has only deepened.
